Smoking Tracker is a local-first smoking tracker. This Privacy Policy explains what information is processed by the mobile app and website, how it is used, and what choices you have.
Summary
The current version of the app does not require an account, does not use advertising, does not use analytics SDKs, and does not send your smoking history to our servers. Your tracking data is stored locally on your device.
Information processed in the app
The app may store the following information on your device so it can provide tracking and statistics:
- Smoking log entries, including the time when a cigarette was recorded.
- Statistics calculated from your entries, such as cigarettes today, time since last cigarette, average time, spending, and history views.
- Settings such as pack price, currency, cigarettes per pack, daily limit, language, theme, widget preferences, and notification preferences.
Local storage and collection
Your smoking log and app settings are stored locally on your device. We do not collect this information from the app, do not sell it, and do not share it with third parties. If we add optional cloud sync, accounts, analytics, advertising, or paid features in the future, we will update this policy before those features are made available.
Device backup
Depending on your Android device settings, the operating system may include app data in your personal device backup. This is controlled by your device and Google account backup settings, not by a Smoking Tracker account.
Notifications and widgets
The app may show an optional ongoing notification and home screen widget with your timer, today count, cost, and a quick logging button. These features use information already stored on your device and can be controlled from the app or Android system settings.
Permissions
On supported Android versions, the app may request notification permission. This permission is used only to show the optional smoking tracker notification and quick action. The app does not request location, contacts, camera, microphone, or account permissions.
Website data
When you visit this website, standard server logs may be processed for security, diagnostics, and abuse prevention. These logs can include technical information such as IP address, browser type, requested page, date, and time. The website does not use advertising cookies or third-party analytics.
Children
Smoking Tracker is not directed to children. Because the app relates to smoking behavior, it should only be used by people who are legally allowed to access such content in their location.
Health-related information
Smoking logs can be personal and sensitive. The app is intended to help you track your own habit and understand your own patterns. It is not intended to promote smoking.
Medical disclaimer
Smoking Tracker is not a medical device and does not provide medical advice, diagnosis, treatment, or guarantees. If you need help with smoking cessation, addiction, withdrawal symptoms, or health concerns, consult a qualified healthcare professional.
Data deletion
Because your smoking history is stored locally, you can delete app data by deleting entries inside the app where available, clearing the app's data in Android settings, or uninstalling the app. We do not currently maintain a server-side account or cloud copy of your smoking history.
Security
We design the app to keep tracking data on your device in the current version. No method of storage or transmission is perfect, so you should also protect your device with appropriate Android security settings.
Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy when the app changes or when legal, technical, or product requirements change. The updated date at the top of this page will show when the latest version became effective.
